Teaching public speaking through Humor, for grades 6–12

LOL 101: Public Speaking Through Humor is an 8-session curriculum (4–8 weeks, depending on schedule) that uses humor to build confidence, public speaking, creative writing, and resilience. Students learn the tools of stand-up comedy: joke structure, delivery, audience awareness, and how to recover when a joke doesn’t land.

The curriculum runs alongside the Practice Studio, a private AI-coached platform where students record and refine their material between classes, with instant feedback on pace, filler words, pauses, conciseness and emphasis, plus a tip for next time. Teacher-guided and designed to support Common Core ELA and CASEL SEL standards.

Built for student privacy: audio-only, US-hosted, school-created accounts, with teacher oversight of all AI feedback.
